“The Captain & The Chief” tells the story of FDNY Chief Raymond "Ray" Downey Sr., who was killed during rescue efforts on 9/11. After an unexpected encounter with another FDNY firefighter, Rangers legend Mark Messier would go on to honor Chief Downey by wearing his fire helmet during the team’s home opener, just weeks after the September 11th attacks.
