Trump Goes NUCLEAR As Every Major TV Network Cuts Coverage

Donald Trump’s escalating war with the media has triggered an extraordinary response from America’s five major television networks. After the White House barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from its grounds and removed CNN from its scheduled pool assignment, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News and CNN announced that they would not provide a replacement crew for presidential pool coverage. The immediate consequence was that Trump’s trip to the United Nations General Assembly would proceed without the usual independent pooled television camera, although print reporters and other pool members would continue covering him. CNN, MS NOW and Politico have also filed a federal lawsuit alleging that the ban punishes them for their reporting and violates the First Amendment. Trump responded that he cherishes a free press but is targeting what he calls “FAKE NEWS,” describing it as coordinated, out of control and a national-security threat that “must be stopped, NOW!” The networks’ decision affects shared pool footage rather than imposing a total blackout of Trump, and White House-controlled or independently obtained footage may still circulate.
