Zoo Atlanta officially welcomed a pair of giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, following their arrival from southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Prior to their journey, a farewell ceremony was held at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding before Zoo Atlanta staff took custody during the handover. The transfer follows an announcement made by Chinese President Xi Jinping during a Washington summit with U.S. President Trump, marking a notable milestone in long-standing U.S.-China wildlife protection cooperation.
