High gas prices are putting real demand back into electric vehicles, says Gerber Kawasaki’s Ross Gerber, guest-hosting Market Hang on October 12, 2026. Yahoo Finance’s Pras Subramanian reviews Rivian’s R2 and notes the reported second production line, the strength of the used EV market and new cheaper pickups from Ford and Slate. Sarah [SURNAME] says BYD dominates outside the US and hybrids are the overlooked part of the story, while Kevin explains why an EV uses three to four times the copper of a gas car. Plus Gerber on electrical infrastructure, solar and batteries in California’s summer heat, and the role of natural gas.
