Zelensky Meets Witkoff in Oslo as Trump Floats Putin-Xi Summit Without Him
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sat down Tuesday in Oslo with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff. The meeting was meant to patch up ties that have deteriorated sharply this month.
President Donald Trump has grown openly frustrated with Zelensky. On Monday he said “Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine” and that Zelensky is “not helping matters much.” He suggested Ukraine should find “somebody else to negotiate.”
The strain follows Trump’s recent moves toward Moscow. He waived new sanctions on Russia and struck a deal allowing Russian diesel to reach global markets. Trump says the steps will help lower U.S. fuel prices. Ukraine sees them as giving Russian President Vladimir Putin room to keep fighting while drones and missiles still hit near Kyiv.
Kyiv has also complained that Washington has held back air-defense missiles and restricted Starlink satellite links that Ukrainian forces use for targeting. Norway and Finland are hosting the talks. Jared Kushner is expected to join remotely.
🚨 JUST IN: Sec. Marco Rubio just SNAPPED at a Zelensky adviser accusing the Trump admin of causing Ukrainian deaths by “denying them information”
“That’s SCANDALOUS. That’s OUTRAGEOUS! That’s just simply NOT TRUE. That’s not accurate…[Trump] doesn’t like being BLAMED for things that aren’t TRUE.” 🎯
America has sent Ukraine tens of billions in aid and intel, and this is the thanks we get?
Rubio is usually the calm one in the room. Even he called this BS out
Zelensky’s team should be thanking Trump for trying to end this war, THEY ARE UNGRATEFUL BRATS

At the same time, reports say Putin has proposed a three-way meeting with Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping next month. The idea is to talk on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen, China, on November 18-19. APEC is the annual gathering of leaders from countries around the Pacific. The goal, according to the reports, would be discussions on ending the war in Ukraine—without Zelensky at the table.
Trump said he is open to it. He noted the main focus would be nuclear weapons, but added he would do “whatever I can do to end the war.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the subject came up but said nothing has been agreed. Ukraine’s foreign minister called the idea a way to encourage Putin to continue the war.

The conflict began when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. It has now stretched past four years with no clear end. Europe continues to send money and weapons. The Trump administration is looking for a faster way out and lower energy costs at home.
Witkoff’s trip is an attempt to keep the channel open. Whether the Oslo talks change Trump’s view or lead to the China summit is still unknown. Whatfinger News is tracking the military side of the conflict at https://militarywar.whatfinger.com/.
