Bill C-9, ‘The Combatting Hate Act’ is now law in Canada You can now get up to 10 years in prison for what Liberals consider hateful behavior towards certain groups – A new hate-propaganda offence for wilfully promoting hatred against an identifiable group by publicly displaying certain symbols. Maximum is 2 years on indictment – Makes hate-motivated crime a specific standalone offense – Creates offences for intimidating or obstructing or interfering with people’s access to places primarily used for religious worship or by identifiable groups. Punishable by up to 10 years in prison
